I am Sarah, headmistress and primary teacher at Sutton Academy. I co-administrate the school with my husband, Don. We love the students as if they are own children…because they are.
Founded in 2003, Sutton Academy is based on the premise that the “most important work we will ever do is within the walls of our home” (Ensign, July 1973, 98). Our primary goal is to “labor diligently…to persuade our children…to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God” (2 Nephi 25:23). Sutton Academy strives to prepare the children for the many roles they will have throughout their lives in their homes, at church, in the mission field, in the workplace, and in their leisure activities. We hope to encourage their natural development towards areas of study that interest them. We aim to prepare them for meaningful relationships and citizenship in their community, country, and world.
